I’ve been fine tuning my tutu making skills.  I usually make a matching headband. Hallo First Birthday, Pink and White with a Purple Ribbon

Buttons

Buttons

I love buttons! While covering a maternity leave for an art teacher one of our projects was based on Tony Cragg.  We decorated hearts with buttons and other found objects.   I’ve also been decorating letters with buttons. Can’t get … Continue reading

Two Months Later!

And two months later I post again.   My baby is no baby, he’s walking and dancing!

It’s been a busy summer with a Sesame Street 1st Birthday Party, a Fiesta Bridal Shower & a 40th Anniversary party.  One wedding down, three more to go this year.

We’ve gone to the zoo, a baseball game, many street fests, the water playground, a dude ranch, water park, the beach, ridden on a boat…  You name it and my one year old has done it.

One of the best parts is a new girl in the family! My niece was born last month.

Photo Contest

I decided to submit this photo for the contest.  It was not an easy decision.  It was between this one and something completely different, a flowering tree, with the sun shining in it.  But, in the end I wanted a photo that was different from the others.  Most of the photos are close ups of one flower or a bunch of flowers from a side view.  All gorgeous and colorful.  We shall see.

Too Much To Do!

I am finding it increasingly difficult to get done what I want!  I have so much to post, but between getting baby’s birthday party, a bridal shower and an anniversary party planned, trying to find time to apply to jobs, cleaning up after baby, making dinner, running errands and working, I am spread thin!

I am excited to share decorations that I’ve made for the birthday party.  Unfortunately, my landlord is working near the computer, where I need to upload some new photos.  Ahh!

On another note, Memorial Day weekend was wonderful.  Lots of quality time with the family: parks, beach, grilling, eating outside, meeting up with friends, breaking out the new baby pool.  I have decided I could live anywhere and have a great life as long as I have my two guys : )

Photo Contest and a Workshop

I’m very excited!  I am doing two things to work towards my goal of getting more experience in this photography thing.  Today I took Rowan to the Botanic Gardens, it turned out to be a gorgeous day.  They are having a spring photo contest so I took a bunch of photos, in addition to some for my sister who is requesting some wall art.  I can’t decide.  Here are a few (I have a thing for black and white):

Regarding the photo workshop, my sister sent me a Groupon for a 3 hour workshop at the Chicago Photography Academy.  I’m very excited, hopefully, it won’t be too basic and I will learn something!

Neighborhood Find

We’ve been looking for the perfect baseball cap for Rowan.  The Detroit hat Brandon ordered through Amazon was too small despite being one size fits all (he has a large noggin).  I bought two generic caps from Wal-Mart for $6.00 total.  I was super excited to find this one at Marshalls for $3.99.  Perfect because his first baseball game will be Cubs vs. Detroit.  We’re still planning on getting him a Detroit shirt to wear as well.  His Grandpa is a White Sox fan, he will not be pleased.

Got to love Payless!  White baptismal shoes online are almost $40 online.  I found these for $14.99 and they had a BOGO 1/2 off sale (can’t stand that word) so I bought another pair.
